Super Mario Bros. is essentially the first video game adaptation movie. It was released in 1993 and starred Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo, who played Mario and Luigi respectively. Also in the cast is Dennis Hopper as King Koopa and Samantha Mathis as Daisy.
I saw this movie when it first hit home video, and even then, I knew it wasn't very good, even without the capacity to understand what a bad movie was. After rewatching it recently, and again with Rifftrax commentary over it, there's something redeemable about it.
As horrible as it is, I find it charming and fun to watch. It's not a good movie at all, but it's a heck of a lot more interesting than most movies nowadays. I can't say I'd recommend it, but I still enjoy it, mainly for nostalgia so don't judge me too harshly.
