Review of Super 8 (2011) by Wolfmanatee — 14 Jun 2011
Super 8, at its core, is Cloverfield starring kids. The editing, acting, and special effects are top notch; but they all become exaggerated and unreasonable as the movie progresses. Near the conclusion, we see copy-pasting editing trying to tie it all together amidst heavy, labored classical music with completely unnecessary and over-the-top explosions.
What starts with a resounding BANG! ends with a neutered whisper.
