Yes, I know that the ending stretches ideas a bit too far. Yes, I know that this film is practically Spielberg territory. But this film has that "summer blockbuster" feeling that I just love, and combined with moments of humor, suspense and action from a very likeable cast, Super 8 is one of the best summer sci-fi blockbusters in recent memory and establishes writer/director J.J. Abrams as someone who sure knows how to pay homage to one of the greats and at the same time, tell one heck of a story.
