Review of Super 8 (2011) by Kevin V — 29 Mar 2014
It's still a J.J. Abrams film based entirely on the work of other people but, at least for me, it's the first Abrams film that isn't boring as all hell. There's some really iffy CGI, but also some refreshingly oldschool practical effects.
It definitely achieves the feel of Spielberg-era adventure movies. Personally, I can't stand Abrams, so now I'm going to drink in order to wash down my shame.
