Review of Super 8 (2011) by Jane R — 05 Apr 2014

I liked this movie. It drew me in from the start. I liked the characters, there was enough mystery and interest to keep it going, and the special effects were impressive, even by today's standards.

It certainly had the feel of a 1979 flick too, reminiscent of Close Encounters and ET. I think the ending let it down for me. It was almost disappointing after the build up. I guess I was expecting something more heartfelt or scary.
