Review of Super 8 (2011) by Bivo M — 14 Dec 2015
JJ Abrams lens flares aside, the children acting in this film, particularly Elle Fanning, give intuitive and genuine performances. The film focuses mostly on the children's story, like a homage to Spielberg's ET. I was not interested in seeing a transformer meets Cloverfield alien be confusingly doe-eyed while also threatening and able to defy basic magnetism. But, I was very interested in seeing the zombie home movies of a charismatic kid from the 1970s, which we finally get during the ending credits.
