Review of Super (2010) by Galaxy Quest P — 21 Apr 2012

My main problem with this movie is that I could not sympathise at all with Frank. When his recovering drug-addict wife leaves him, he mopes around blaming the guy who lured her away with drugs. Although there were obvious signs of her relapsing (e.g. using a bong in the house), Frank doesn't help her until she's gone. He then receives a sign from God to be a superhero. Instead he goes around hitting people with a wrench for everything from child molestation to cutting in line.

This movie frustrated me. It seemed to have trouble deciding whether it was a comedy or a drama. The camera and effects were inconsistent and the characters feel undeveloped.
