While it's tons of fun, Super captures the complexity of being a superhero.
All great Superheros start off as underdogs but this film's hero Frank(Rain Wilson) is pathetic. He's not a humble farmer's son or an orphaned billionaire, and he's not a regular guy who got bitten by anything radio active. He's a loser. A real life genuine loser to the point that it hurts.
Superhero films attempt to show the internal struggle of right and wrong but none have captured it like Super.
