Review of Sunshine on Leith (2013) by Ross B — 18 Oct 2013
This is a wonderful movie. Who would have thought that Peter Mullan could sing? Ok, he's a bit lee Marvin, but his gravelly tones were just right for the occasion. What shone through for me was the wonderfully direct quality of the Proclaimers' lyrics; that and the shots of Edinburgh.
Anyone watching the film who hasn't been there must want to go there now. I was pleasantly surprised by the choriography too, which was much better than I had expected. Altogether a tremendous film.
