Review of Sunshine Cleaning (2008) by Firstorderhistorians K — 06 Jan 2010
I know Cal was big on this movie because it had Amy Adams and well frankly I was too. Not only is she very beautiful she is a great actress as well. She must have a good sense of humor to tolerate Sasha Baron Cohen as well.
Anyways, Amy Adams is a struggling single mom trying to get by when she stumbles upon a new profession of forensic clean up. The relationship dynamics are interesting in the movie and you kind of pull for her as an underdog character.
Failure to realize the love interest angle in the movie has it's pros and cons. The benefit is that it's not your typical Hollywood movie with a happy love story ending, the negative is that they hint at the love interest and yet they don't fully explore it, sort of teasing the audience.
All in all a pretty good movie. It's not going to be a Monday morning conversation simulator, but it will due to pass the time.
