Review of Sunshine Cleaning (2008) by Agnieszka K — 24 Mar 2010
Sunshine Cleaning comedy drama film staring Amy Adams and Emily Blunt as two sisters who decide there is a place in the market for 'crime scene cleaning' and set up their own business to the financial problems their family faces.
The film is quite heart-warming in the sense that you see the family grow and go through a number of different troubles and it deals with some everyday matters that a quite a few people are facing these days.
The film is quite slow-paced and while it adds subtle humour here and there, it doesn't lighten the overall quite depressing mood of the film. Taking too many ques from Little Miss Sunshine, all the characters seem to be based around the same characters in that film and isn't all that convincing that it can stand on its own.
The gorgeous Emily Blunt did a great job in this film, much better than Amy Adams who still wasn't that bad. Overall, this was an enjoyable film. :).
