Review of Sunshine Cleaning (2008) by Tom C — 21 Apr 2010
A charming yet strange story. Basically the main character, played by Amy Adams, is sick of not making any money. She is good at cleaning houses. So she uses her skills to get into another cleaning business.
Except, it is cleaning up after people who have died. She also drags her sister into it; played by Emily Blunt. There is a lot of interesting characters. Amy Adams and Emily Blunt are pretty good. It is funny because Amy Adams is also so cheerful in her roles and she stays this way while cleaning up after these people who died.
Alan Arkin was decent. Steve Zahn was not that impressive at all in his role. Clifton Collins Jr. was an interesting character and I liked his role. There is also Mary Lynn Rajskub. She was ok, but something seemed a bit off.
This movie is a nice lighter comedy, but it does tend to get boring over a time with the story. But in the end, it does stop nicely. So you can say it was a decent film.
