Review of Sunshine Cleaning (2008) by Logan G — 21 Feb 2011
And so I stumbled on this quirky movie while channel grazing... it is interesting (perhaps neurotic) story mostly about two sisters that end up starting a company cleaning up crime scenes. I don't think it is fair to call it a comedy as there are some "real life" issues and family challenges.
Perhaps the characters are even trying to find themselves after what happened to their mother by ironically getting into a business which deals with the same fate. The hook that made my "clicker" stop is probably the blending of the characters that in many ways seems quite ackward.
.. but yet just worked in telling a good story - not over dramatized or understated. Amy Adams and Emily Blunt feed each other well. Alan Arkin and Clifton Collins add perfectly to the mix also.
