Review of Sunshine Cleaning (2008) by Bob S — 29 Jul 2011
This is the engrossing and appealing story of Rose (played by Adams) - a woman finally able to take pride in something of her own and the story of her ability to rise from a life of struggle. This is a perfect example of how enjoyable a film can be when intriguing characters are accompanied with a good screenplay.
Each character struggles to cope with the key moment from their past and is trying hard in their own way to turn things around. Adams and Arkin were solid as expected, but Blunt shone as Roseâ(TM)s younger sister who has never recovered from a tragic family event when she was young girl.
The story is a drama with the perfect balance of emotion, drollness and whimsy.
