Review of Sunshine (2013) by Will J — 21 Jul 2012
Danny Boyle's Sunshine is a refreshing take on the science-fiction genre, blending horror and drama with spectacular visuals and cinematic shots. Unlike similar films, it is more than a disaster movie but an exploration into the psychology of the characters and the juxtaposed ideas of religion and science.
It is a tense thrill of a film with a fresh screenplay, solid acting and a deeply atmospheric soundtrack. While the final part goes off on a tangent, the film remains strong and intelligent to the very end.
