Review of Sunshine (2013) by Daniel D — 17 Aug 2014
I'm not sure if I've ever watched a movie I knew so little about solely because of the soundtrack before, but I'm glad I did. It's not the greatest sci-fi I've ever seen, and it has one particularly hokey plot point, but the concept is interesting and the film remains gripping throughout while turning in solid performances from its actors.
Oh, and did I mention the soundtrack? This film is the original source of Adagio in D minor, or that epic piece you've now heard in the trailers for The Adjustment Bureau, Star Trek: Into Darkness, and X-Men: Days of Future Past, as well as in several episodes of The Walking Dead, to name a few places.
If you want to see a great example of music enhancing a film, you'll find it here.
