Review of Sunshine (2013) by David K — 06 Dec 2014
The absolute betrayal of storytelling that occurs in the third act, where the film literally pivots into a cheap and drastically different genre, is unforgivable. This film, without the collapse in tone and direction that dismantles the beauty of what proceeded it, could have been an all-time great.
Despite some great closing scenes and an amazing start, Boyle sort of botched it with Sunshine. Forever disappointed by it.
