Review of Sunshine (2007) by Benjamin N — 04 Dec 2011

Thankyou danny boyle...i get about 10 movies a year that show me something fresh..show me that there are filmmakers out there with balls...(and this movie has a gargantuan set of balls...thats not to say a movie with balls gets its ass kicked from time to time, and isnt always victorious in its story telling decisions (new character in the third act adding some cliche scares, but also adding a great monologue), but it still has the balls to stand up to the behemuths like 2001 or blade runner get beat down and still say fuck you regular sci fi hollywood movies, u at fucked up sci fi masterpieces) for some reason I smell movies like this a mile away and know.

..usually its the director that gives it away, sometimes its the fact that critics are dumbfounded and take the easy way out and pick out one thing they dont like, therefore because of this one thing the movie apparently sucks.

..lick on my balls critics...take a look at the scene where the sun barrier has breaches in it and needs to be fixed, take a look at some kick ass camera techniques and flashes when they enter icarus 1, take a look at some beautiful music and images, take a look at some understated acting that isnt over the top or mundane, take a look at a set of balls that are bigger than your own, this movie is not perfect, nowhere near, you might even call it a failure and a letdown, but failing aiming for the top is infinitely more interesting than failing at the creation of a sure money making run of the mill bag of hollywood douche.

...ps I dont like using paragraphs or punctuation of any kind, nor do I like to use sentence structure, however I do like to go on angry rants that end off fairly incomplete as a whole, fuck you rules of writing and literature, speaking of rules of writing this reminds me of another medium in the arts called film, alot of directors say hey I need to use punctuation right here.

..its the rules...other directors say" I dont give a fuck i'm sticking a # here and using three commas here ,,, (in film this would be the equivalent of saying fuck you three act structure, or fuck you understandable safe plotline on first viewing) cause I dont like rules and I like to make things that are different and interesting and have something to offer with repeated viewings.

.. haha movies like this bring out an animal in me...fuck you rules! its no blade runner or 2001 or the fountain (theres a movie that reeeally makes me strain) but it has balls like those movies...maybe its because I havent seen a solid movie since I went to see no country for old men, but this movie is good enough in my books to earn serious recognition and a 5 minute random-ass incoherent unfocused rant with no correct punctuation or structure of any kind.
