Review of Sunshine (2007) by Misselana N — 05 Apr 2012

This movie would have been much better if the premise (jump-starting a fucking star) were actually in any way possible. The only possible way to jump-start our sun would be to throw Jupiter into it, which is impossible. Whenever I see a sci-fi flick that really tries to do well, and nearly succeeds were it not for the absolutely bat-shit crazy "durp, let's fix the sun" idea.

Besides, our sun will swell once it dims (then turning into a Red Giant) so Earth would still be substantially warmed for probably long after the human race goes extinct by other means.
