Danny Boyle is a rare breed of director... his movies are viseral visions of a dark beauty to which you never get the full story... you feel blissfully lost and your content with that. With Sunshine...
I had no idea as to what was going on except the cast was that of a second attempt to jumpstart our dying Sun to save our Earth. The cast of just 8 or so were interesting and all flawed that maybe @ the beginning of this sci-fi tale they were qualified for the mission.
When we meet them they are feeling the confinement and loneliness of Space. Cillian Murphy and Chris Evans are brilliant in this perfect cast. Beautiful and terrifying... just as you'd expect from a Boyle film.
Just as good as Gravity. Highly approve. Bravo. Proves that Boyle continues to dominate! I haven't seen a film of his that wasn't top notch.
