Review of Sunshine (2007) by Edward C — 02 Nov 2011
Danny Boyle makes really smart, empathetic movies about underdogs, men & women pushed to the edge of endurance, facing questions of what it means to be human, to suffer, to sacrifice. And he does it with great visual panache and a enviable flare for storytelling.
So, even when a film comes along like SUNSHINE, uneven, sometimes confusing, and with an end sequence that feels like another screenplay got stuck to it by some greasy-fingered junior producer, it is more enjoyable than ten movies by Michael Bay put together.
