Review of Sunset Boulevard (1950) by Marco F — 10 Dec 2009
This has become my favorite Billy Wilder film. Incredible performance by Gloria Swanson, first-rate storytelling and the perfect ending make this an instant classic. A masterpiece, no matter how you look at it.
Wilder had a penchant for picking very good endings, as evidenced in ACE IN THE HOLE, SOME LIKE IT HOT and this film.
