Review of Sunset Boulevard (1950) by Andrew C — 14 Feb 2011
The premise is intriguing, the stylish noir feel is spot-on, and the dialogue is full of wit. As the melodrama escalates in the final act it does stumble a little, and the overacting typical of 1950s films is apparent occasionally (though the overacting actually suits one of the characters).
But all up it's very very easy to see why this is a classic.
