Review of Sunset Boulevard (1950) by Jeff H — 03 Jul 2011
A thrilling film, with an ending that is out of this world. The performances alone are outstanding and the entire film is just an achievement. The film noir, the black and white, the story, the SCRIPT!, and of course Gloria Swanson as Norma Desmond just gives this movie exactly the type of analysis that is needed to deconstruct Hollywood and Hollywood's use of people like they are clothes.
It also shows the tragic downfall of a star who used to shine bright. A+.
