Gloria Swanson gives a wonderful performance of the fading silent movie star Norma Desmond. She herself was the romantic lead in many silent films and a sort after Hollywood star. Barely 5 feet tall, she was a fashion icon around the world and people would come to see the outfits she wore in her movies.
