Incredible film. This film deals with a silent film era actress and her struggle to adapt to the changing times - especially sound in film. William Holden gives a wonderful performance as the witty screenwriter and Gloria Swanson performs amazingly as the elder actress Norma Desmond.
Silent film actors such as Erich von Stroheim and Buster Keaten also feature as well as the director Cecil B. DeMille as himself. It is a brilliant look at the Hollywood scene after the lights have turned off and the camera has cut rolling.
It has a brilliant screenplay, wonderful music, inspired photography and editing and is one of the best classics to ever come out of Hollywood.
