Review of Sunset Boulevard (1950) by Colm M — 26 Nov 2009
Brilliant dark satire on Hollywood thats still relevant. If you were at a loose end could you be William Holdens character? I could, but not if I had to sleep with her. Imagining this scenario in the dark surroundings of her claustrophobic mansion is what makes the film so nightmarish for blokes.
Worth it just for the freaky over acted facial expressions of Gloria Swanson who, lets face it, plays herself.. she did nothing of note after this movie.
