Review of Sunset Boulevard (1950) by Alexandre L — 22 Aug 2010
Gloria Swanson gives a powerful performance as the psychotic former silent-film star Norma Desmond seeking a comeback to the movies. Joe Gillis (William Holden) is the young screenwriter running away from his debts who ends up in Desmond's mansion.
This is one of the most fascinating movies of all-time, I was hooked on the first viewing. If you ever were to watch a single movie about Hollywood, this is it.
