Review of Sunset Boulevard (1950) by The Critic ( — 06 May 2012
Handsomely produced classic with solid performances from Gloria Swanson and William Holden, features some fine moments (Swanson's Chaplin impersonation) but is way too long for its own purpose. Features one of the most famously misquoted lines in cinema: "All right, Mr.
DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up.".
