Review of Sunset Boulevard (1950) by Mom D — 05 Oct 2009
"I am big. It's the pictures that got small.".
The greatest film about Hollywood and Billy Wilder's greatest achievement. It has a great script, great cinematography, a wonderful score, and great performances by both William Holden and Gloria Swanson. It also features a starring role for legendary director Erich Von Stroheim & cameos by Buster Keaton and most notably Cecille B. DeMille as themselves. Absolutely a must see, especially if you are a film noir fan.
"Alright Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my closeup.".
10/10.
