Review of Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927) by Vincent H — 14 Apr 2008
Visually beautiful. Proof that silent films are much more sophisticated than many people think. The camera work is amazing, especially given the technology of the day, and some of the special effects are great.
And while some of the movie seems simple or primitive today, remember that Murnau pioneered much of what you're seeing. And the typeface on the title cards is cool!
