Review of Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927) by Ramesh . — 01 Oct 2008
Watched it at Charlotte Film Festival.
Watching this movie on the big screen with live piano music to accompany it was an amazing experience that I doubt I will forget anytime soon. The cinematography in this film is just breathtaking and the story is so touching.
Even though it's a silent film, I never felt the lack of dialogue keeping me from enjoying the film nor did I ever felt a need for dialogue. The acting was superb and the plot was surprisingly complex with character development (holy crap, in a SILENT FILM!).
Now I want to watch rest of the films Murnau made!
