Review of Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927) by Blackity B — 03 May 2009

Ok - this is one classic that I really didn`t love. I knew it was a romance story and that`s why I put it off for so long, and my fears were mostly justified. It actually starts out with a pretty interesting set-up, and the story has a pretty nice ending.

..yes, the cinematorgaphy was good, but the problem is the story just isn't strong enough and the entire middle act is rather useless. Just too much of nothing for my tastes. It does not explore any of the moral dillemas it poses, and is one-flavored all the way through.

For its time though it was quite decent enough.
