Review of Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927) by Andy B — 21 Mar 2011
Beautiful and interesting from a story perspective, but a very plodding film. I know its painting a picture, but I'm not a big fan of the slow-developing character piece in general and, in a silent film, it's even harder to watch.
That said, it was (again) very beautiful and the actors gave terrific performances for their time. I just don't get why it rates so highly now. "Metropolis" came out the same year and blows this movie out of the water.
