Review of Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927) by Alexander C — 20 Nov 2012
A beautiful Picture that can truly be seen as a milestone in Cinema. It establishes the collaboration of Hollywood Studio Production with the grand German art of Expressionism in Filmmaking. Sweeping the first academy awards with its beautifully and innovative cinematographic techniques and genius artistic performances.
A film that did not go too well at the box office due to the beginning of the talky period but still can be seen as one of the most nearly perfect films in the silent period. Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau at his best can only be recommended.
