Review of Sunrise (1985) by Jennifer W — 26 Jul 2008
The power of potent, vivid imagery over any spoken word is conveyed beautifully in this silent film by renowned director F.W. Murnau. A seemingly simple narrative manages to portray the heartbreak of lost love and the sheer joy of its renewal.
The editing techniques are also sophisticated for the period so it's no wonder that the film continues to move and intrigue audiences today.
