Review of Sun Choke (2015) by Tim M — 12 Feb 2017
After viewing last year's documentary "Holy Hell", the Californian haze of cult-based mind control has lingered in the back of my mind. "Sun Choke" keeps a similar deeply unsettling, psychedelic tone.
For fans of Panos Cosmatos' "Beyond the Black Rainbow" and 80's horror nostalgia, "Sun Choke" will offer some creepy vibes, some stilted acting, and some classic exploitation.
I think I'm looking forward to more films like this, but I would prefer better acting and story. However, considering that it is on Netflix at the moment, it would make a welcome addition to your watch queue.
