Review of Summer Stock (1950) by Brandon T — 31 May 2008
Well. this film was definitely cheesy. There were some fun numbers, such as the one where Gene Kelly dances on a newspaper, and "Dig For Your Dinner." However, there was one particularly excruciating number where Kelly plays a country yokel. Groan.
Also, the famous number "Get Happy" is another highlight.
I mean, this is a pretty average classic Hollywood musical, but it has great headliners. Gene Kelly is charming as always and Judy Garland, well, nothing needs to be said about her that hasn't already been said.
