Review of Summer Rental (1985) by Shane D — 22 Feb 2015
Imagine the surprise to learn that despite being written/directed by Carl Reiner and starring a young-ish John Candy, Summer Rental is pretty darn atrocious. Barely a laugh to be had in what feels a poor-mans Griswald outing - I can usually find joy in any old 80s romp, but I genuinely struggled here.
When your highlight is a burp joke and a running boob-gag....it's a bad sign.
