Review of Summer Magic (1963) by Magill F — 25 Oct 2008
A pretty typical Disney family-fun-brand musical film where the biggest conflicts the characters encounter are things like what dress to wear to the big dance and having to share a room with their snooty cousin.
Not bad, but not outstanding. Some of the songs are pretty good (I'm thinking of the one that goes "All I wanna dooooo, when the day is throooough..."), but some are pretty horrendous, and the one where the girls explain to their friend that if she wants to get a boyfriend she has to be dainty and feminine and nothing at all like who she really is.
..is pretty damned funny.
