Review of Sully (2016) by Monika M — 06 Dec 2016
I remember when this happened and the amazing sight of the passenger airliner in the Hudson River with all the survivors on the wings. What I didn't know was what happened to the Pilot Sully after the near tragedy.
I did wonder how they'd make a film around a 208 second flight and make it interesting enough, but they did and did it well. The first 30 or so minutes are a little slow, but the film picks up once flashbacks are effectively used at different points.
Tom Hanks is great as always and carries the film in the slower parts keeping you interested. Probably not a film you'd watch more than once, but I liked it a lot and definitely not one to watch if you're flying anytime soon.
4 out of 5 stars.
