Review of Sully (2016) by Ben J — 14 Jan 2017
Good- but the miracle is in the true events, not so much the filmmaking. Hanks is obviously perfect as usual (eg, on learning that all 155 survived), despite apparently being harangued by both Eastwood and the real life Sully himself on set.
The film itself sometimes feels a little clunky and distortive - eg, the exaggerated bad guys from the inquiry - and SFX aren't great. But this is made up for by the fascinating painstaking recreation of events, right down to watching the realistic passenger evacuation in real time.
