One of the best parts about Sully for me is the performances by Tom Hanks and Aaron Eckhart, as Chesley Sullenberger, and his co-pilot, Jeffrey Skiles (Yes, you already expected it, I know), and their relationship in this movie was my favourite aspect of the film.

The movie also does a terrific job at pulling you in, and there isn't really a single moment where you are disengaged, which is an achievement considering how boring the story sounds on paper, and part of that is due to the phenomonal acting. There are however parts to the film that just feel unneccessary. Chesley's wife, who didn't do or add anything to the movie, and some scenes in general that don't slow down the pacing, but still feel like filler. But my biggest gripe would be the flashbacks to the Hudson River Plane Landing. I think the movie would've been more compelling without them, but my main issue with them is how long they're. Flashbacks should be short, but the flashbacks here, instead take their time. The result is 10-15 minute long flashbacks that disrupt the flow of the movie. When the flashbacks end and we come back to the present, it feels like we've just changed the channel. They negatively affect the structure, making it all feel messy and not like a complete whole. Despite these problems, I still very highly recommend seeing this movie. Overall, I think Sully is a surprisingly very entertaining and fun flick, but it won't leave you wanting more.

Sully is a good-movie gets a 7 out of 10.
