Tom Hanks ability to fully adapt to the character role is what makes this a very entertaining film. Eastwood mixes in an interesting mix of time lines which aided. Didn't see any outstanding supporting acting but Hanks alone was enough to portray the story.

I almost rated it a 9 but some of the dialogue in some scenes seemed to staged. The accomplishment of Capt. Sullenberg was felt throughout the theater and was greeted with applause at the end of the film.
