Review of Sullivan's Travels (1941) by Amanda C — 01 Feb 2011
A very gentle social commentary film that is very enjoyable. It's got a easy light sense of humour and while none of its observations on the world and class are earth shattering, they are none the less relevant.
The overall tone of the film is a tad naive and it's quite glossy, even when depicting the homeless. The ending is a bit ridiculous, but so is the overall plot of the film. It walks that line very well, never crossing it into absurdity.
