Review of Sukiyaki Western Django (2007) by Jon W — 05 Dec 2008
It is really interesting to see a modern foreign homage to the western genre, and this one comes from the crazed mind of Takeshi Miike. Like most of his movies, the pacing is kinda strange, but there's enough strangeness, and interesting stuff to keep you enjoying yourself.
A strange hodge-podge of western and samurai genres, with cartoon noises, crazy japanese stuff, and all engrish dialog. Come to think of it, it might be the Miike film I've enjoyed the most so far.
