This movie is strange, very strange, but so is takashi miike. in his first english language feature, he still brings his awesome visual eye, and completely odd sense of humor to this film, although the dialog is clunky, like a straight translation from japanese to english.
even tarantino comes of sounding like a cross between a cowboy stereotype and a beginning in the english language. a fun film if you like miike, and not at all as confusing, or as long as his odd undead samurai film "izo".
