Review of Sukiyaki Western Django (2007) by Costas T — 11 Feb 2009
Tarantino may have a (very) small role in this film that aspires to extend what began with the "Grindhouse" to the western genre, but the rest of the film is far beyond expectation. The script is shallow, with stupid acts but not the absurdly hilarious ones that helped bring up the "Grindhouse". You easily get beyond the funny-speaking Japanese cast, but after that, the film runs out of gas.
I particularly did not like the eye-popping color scheme used in many scenes, but that's very subjective.
