Review of Sukiyaki Western Django (2007) by Teemu Y — 22 Feb 2009
It's a bit terrible and a bit awesome, but hews closer to "The Quick and the Dead" than the classic spaghetti westerns. Not necessarily a bad thing, but since it's at its most inspired when it indulges the offbeat, you wonder why Miike decided to go for convention rather than for broke, as is his wont.
Looks stunning, btw.
