Review of Sukiyaki Western Django (2007) by Alan L — 22 May 2009
Okay, colorful. Looks like Tarrantino as done by Japanese folks with a good sense of the mashup of histories. Japanese actors speaking English pulp as if it was Shakespeare is a little unsettling, but you get used to it.
Though there are a dozen good action shots, it doesn't have as many memorable gonzo moments as the original which set the stage for spaghetti westerns and the depraved anti-hero genre that it became.
